Mrs. Sherry Couch, Principal of Cape Hatteras Elementary School
Mrs. Couch is a dedicated school leader with over 20 years of experience working with students in both elementary and high school. Her passion is working with at risk students and decreasing the achievement gap. Mrs. Couch’s expertise was recognized when she was named by her peers as the Dare County School’s Principal of the Year for 2016-17. She is committed to supporting teachers by empowering them to be creative and explore differentiated and meaningful instructional strategies. Mrs. Couch enjoys spending time with her family, which includes three children and her husband Danny.
Mrs. Diane Brown, Assistant Principal at Cape Hatteras Elementary School
Mrs. Brown brings a wealth of experience by having worked as a teacher, instructional technology facilitator, and now as a school leader at Cape Hatteras Elementary School. It is her belief that all schools should provide a safe learning environment for students. She works closely with teachers to provide instructional support and coaching. In her free time she loves to write and spend time with her family and friends.
